Progress Monitoring

Special Education Teachers must monitor the progress of the students in their care once every two weeks according to a properly designed IEP.  IEPs are legal documents that must be followed, and are very carefully written by the Special Education Teacher.  Monitoring the progress of a student means that teachers carefully determine how much learning has taken place since the last opportunity to check progress.  Areas that a student has not yet mastered can then be determined and teachers can concentrate on the areas where progress is slower than others.
