Syllabus:

You alone are in control of your grade in this class.

We will have an assignment everyday in this class.  Your assignment is due the day it is assigned.  I expect you to hand in your work on the day it is due.  Assignments are not optional; you are required to turn in assignments no matter how late.  You may not give up.

If you have been absent, talk to me when you return and we will figure out a way for you to make up what you have missed.  Be responsible and approach me first.

Your grade will depend on several types of assignments including tests, projects, papers, and presentations.

Most of our assignments require class participation in discussion, questioning, inferences, and creative thinking.  You will be asked to respond to reading, write about reading, and have your writing and reading evaluated by peers.  You may earn points each day by participating fully in our class time.

All assignments will be titled as instructed--Title, date period, and name will be at the top of your documents you submit or they will be deleted.  Assignments are posted at the beginning of the week and can be accessed three ways; you will receive an email via gmail, you may look me up on the North Fayette Valley website and click on Reading Class and due dates will be discussed in class.  You may check this website.  Your parents will know what's due and when it's due!

Good learners ask questions.  Good readers think creatively to solve problems.  This describes YOU.
